Winning the continuing affiliate war isn’t easy but (unlike some wars) it is actually winnable. The affiliate wars can’t and won’t be won by lazy affiliate marketers. The affiliate internet marketing wars are going to be won by the ambitious strategists who are prepared to work hard and long.

Affiliate marketing online is not really for the faint of heart. If you had actually known how challenging your competition is in affiliate marketing would you have joined the fray? It does not matter. You are in the middle of it at this point and giving up just is not an option for the true warrior. The only real option is winning…and winning Huge!

Winning the affiliate marketing wars usually means winning the small every day battles and minor skirmishes one at a time and winning them decisively.

You need to become one of those super affiliates. You would like to turn into one of those major earners that make an annual income that has more than one comma in that amount on the bottom line, right?

In that case you must be prepared to work hard. You have to be ready to do more than what’s needed. You have to be ready to go that extra mile.

First and foremost, reputation matters in affiliate marketing. There are many affiliate marketers out there however the ones who make the big bucks are the ones who’ve established high presence and great credibility for themselves.

Creating credibility and visibility work together and establishing both are crucial to your being successful and your success over your competition.

Credibility and visibility are founded in a number of ways. Two of the most significant methods of establishing credibility and visibility are by writing and promoting articles and E-Books that relate to the products and services that you advertise. You have to establish yourself as an expert…a guru, if you will.

You must become the man or the gal that other people check out when they want information or need questions answered. Writing articles and E-Books (or having them prepared for you by a ghost writer) is among the best possible ways of establishing your status as a person who has answers.

Articles you write or have written for you by a ghost writer are going to be submitted into article banks for various other website owners of E-zine publishers to download and reproduce without charge. At the bottom of every 300-400 word, key-word rich article you’ll include a resource box that has your name plus your website address in it. This helps to pass your name and news of your expertise around the Internet to the people who are the most likely to be your customers.

E-Books need to only be 10 to 12 pages long but a hyperlink to your website should be included on each and every page as well as in the authors bio box at the end. E-Books are uploaded to E-Book databases where others may download them and reproduce them the same as articles.

Since it is required that E-Books can’t be changed and that resource box details have to be included when E-Books are downloaded and reproduced, your standing as an expert in your area will be boosted each time anybody chooses to use them.

Another way to develop your visibility as well as your credibility on the web would be to post to blogs and forums that have topics related to the products and services that you sell. It’s a very simple matter to find these forums and blogs. Just type your relevant key word in the search box of your preferred search engine followed by the plus sign (+) and the words blogs or forums. You’ll get a lot of results.

Pick three or four of the ones that have the biggest number of active users and join those blogs or forums. Take care here. Posting to blogs and forums effectively is likely to take several hours of your time every week so don’t pick too many.

After you have signed up with three or four blogs and forums don’t go in with guns blazing posting obvious advertising. The idea here will be to develop visibility and credibility. Introduce yourself and behave as though you had just moved into a fresh neighborhood. Your signature tag that is found at the bottom of every single post that you make should have your name along with a link to your website.

Take your time so that you can get to know the other posters within the community and become a respected member of the group. You’ll be building a good reputation, visibility and credibility.

It will take time to build your visibility and credibility. While you’re developing them, you will also be promoting and selling product or service and you need to create a good relationship with people who buy products from you. Make sure that you provide good information, good support and a guarantee if one applies.

Go to great lengths to never seem to be a cheapo or corner cutter to your clients. Always deal with them like they are your most important asset…they ARE your most important asset.

Never price cut products or services or provide rebates. You don’t want to develop that type of reputation or that kind of customer base. Rather than offering discounts or rebates take the time and put forth your time and effort to add extra bonuses to the products that you promote to give them additional value.

The winners of the affiliate wars will be the men and women who go to the trouble and make an effort to build great reputations as authorities and as fair and trustworthy merchants.

Folks buy things on the Internet from people that they feel like they know and can have confidence in. People buy stuff on the Internet from affiliate marketers who have the reputation as an expert or a guru and one who in fact cares about the people to whom he sells products and services . A positive and hard working, fair–dealing reputation can help you win the daily battles and, in the end the affiliate war.
